Smiles All Around :)

This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

I've got a smile for everyone I meet,
Long as you don't try dragging my bay
Or dropping a bomb on my street.

—Middle of the Road, the Pretenders

So who says committing Bible verses to memory is hard? I thought the second one was easy to remember, but the first one has got to be easier.

I'm one of THOSE people. The kind that gets up in a good mood, a smile on my face, that Psalm verse in my head, singing in the shower (if you can call that singing) and when somebody tells me to have a nice day I think "I already am!" I've got a smile for everybody, which probably causes some of them to think I'm simple or something, not that it bothers me any.

It's easy for me to smile all the time. The obviousness aside, I know my place in life. Some people are big wheels. Some are small cogs in a big machine. I'm happy being the spot of grease that makes things run a little easier. Like I said, I smile at strangers on the street, (and some of them really need that!), open doors, and do small things that make people's day a little easier, maybe a little better. You'll never find my name in the news, and I prefer it that way. There are a lot of us in the world, and some day you're having it rough, try to remember one of them.

Fruitcake Recipe

It's never too early ... Or too late!! ... For this fruitcake.

Christmas Fruitcake

1 c water               1 tsp. baking soda
1 c sugar                1 c brown sugar
4 large eggs            2 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 c dried fruit         2 c chopped nuts
1 tsp. salt               1 full bottle of your favorite whiskey

Sample the whiskey to check for quality. Take a large bowl.

Check the whiskey again to be sure that it is of the highest
quality. Pour one level cup and drink. Repeat.

Turn on the electric mixer. Beat 1 cup of softened butter
in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 tsp. sugar and beat again.

Make sure the whiskey is still okay. Cry another tup. Turn off
the mixer. Break two legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the
cup of dried fruit.

Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers,
pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the whiskey to check for
tonsisticity.

Next, sift 2 cups of salt. Or something.
Who cares?

Check the whiskey. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your
nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever
you can find.

Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget
to beat off the turner. Throw the bowl out the window.

Wheck the chiskey again. Go to bed.

Who likes fruitcake anyway?
